Creating Resilient Kids was founded by two Certified Child Life Specialists. 

Certified Child Life Specialists are educated and clinically trained to help children and families cope with the stress and uncertainty of illness, hospitalization, trauma, a new diagnosis, medical procedures, bereavement, and more.

Child Life Specialists have a background in child development and specialize in supporting children undergoing medical experiences. Child life specialists provide developmentally appropriate interventions including therapeutic play, preparation for procedures, and education to reduce fear, anxiety, and pain in both healthcare and community settings.

We are experienced in supporting newborns through adolescents and everything in between! Typically our one-on-one video sessions begin with children at the age of 4. For children younger than 4 years old, we recommend a phone consult with a parent or caregiver to provide resources and guidance on how to best support your little one.

The first step is to schedule a FREE 15 minute consultation.

Once scheduled, you will receive a brief intake form to provide your child life specialist with a little background information. During your initial consultation, we will discuss your questions and concerns about the current situation. We will provide additional information about our services and offer suggestions and guidance on the best next steps.

Next, we schedule either a phone session with a parent/caregiver or a video session with your child.

Each video session with a child and family is tailored for the specific needs identified during the initial consult or the intake process.

A session may include: a discussion with the family and child to develop a specific plan, a therapeutic activity or medical play, helping the child process feelings, and/or parent education. There will be a wrap-up conversation with the parent or caregiver at the conclusion of the session to review it, if they were not present, and to discuss additional resources and recommendations.

**We ask that parents are present for video sessions with children ages 8 and younger.

The cost of services is based on the type of consult.

Phone Consults for Parents and Caregivers- $55

Video Consults for Children/Teens- $75
